Pin to Win with Harris Teeter + Peppermint Mocha Recipe + Gift Card Giveaway

Peppermint Mocha

The time between Thanksgiving and Christmas is my absolute favorite time of the year. And this year it seems so much more special as Brad and I are preparing for Elliott’s very first Christmas. He’s too little to remember any of this, of course, but everything is just so much more fun with a baby (except maybe 7 hour car trips).

Even still, I’ve had a lot of fun this past week looking up holiday recipes and pinning them to my #SeasonsEatings Pinterest Board.  And I can’t wait until we are able to create memories with Elliott that he’ll remember. I’m sure some of those memories will involve making and enjoying favorite holiday recipes.

And here’s one recipe to get you started — my Peppermint Mocha recipe!

Peppermint Mocha

Peppermint Mocha
(Serves 2)
This chocolatey and minty drink is part beverage and part dessert!
Ingredients
12 oz. double strength coffee (See Notes)
2 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
4 Tablespoons sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/8 teaspoon peppermint extract
whip cream (optional)
crushed soft peppermint candies (optional)
Directions

Pour coffee into a medium sized pot over medium heat. Whisk in cocoa powder, sugar, milk, and extract. Continue to stir 2-3 minutes until liquid is hot. Pour into a mug and top with whip cream and crushed soft peppermint candies.

Notes:

Make coffee as you normally would, but use twice as much coffee. For every 6 ounces, I use a Tablespoon, so for this recipe I would use 4 Tablespoons for 12 ounces.

To help you craft your very own #SeasonsEatings recipe, Harris Teeter has generously offered to give away a $25 gift card to one of my readers.

To enter, simply leave a comment below telling me your favorite holiday food to make or eat! I’ll draw a random winner on Friday, December 6.  Good luck!
