Last night, Brad and I had ourselves a little date, just the two of us.
We started off at a restaurant that is becoming one of my favorites in Charlotte, 15 North Roadside Kitchen. If you remember, I hosted a wine pairing meal there several months ago.
I love the look and feel of this restaurant.
Simple and chic, but so not pretentious.
The company wasn’t so bad either. 😉
We started off with a glass of wine. Red for me, white for him.
We split the fried green tomatoes, which is served with pimento cheese, red pepper sauce, and a bit of crispy bacon. Mmmmm, yummy.
Instead of an entree, I ordered a small salad that was one of the most interesting salads I have seen on a menu in a while.
Grilled peaches, onion, pancetta, gorgonzola, balsamic glaze, and a bit of greens.
It was heavenly.
I think they should make it a bit larger so it can be a meal-sized salad, but it was perfect paired with the fried green tomatoes.
Brad ordered their Cobb salad and proclaimed it to be the best Cobb salad he’s ever had.
It had avocado, blue cheese, tomatoes, a bit of bacon, a really light vinaigrette and fried oysters.
After dinner, we were looking for something to do and decided to check out Petit Phillippe since we were in the neighborhood.
We may have gone a little overboard tasting chocolates and wine, but we accomplished our goal, which was to have a good time.
Brad and I split quite a few tastes of chocolate. The fleur de sel is still my absolute favorite. You can’t beat sweet and salty.
Wine goggles.
How did you spend your Friday night?
