Paris in Photos: Part 2 (Days 11-14)

The last few days of our time in France were wonderful.  However, besides some touristy photos, I didn’t document every activity.  We often would set out for the day with plans to tour museums and grab lunch on the way.  There was a lot of walking and honestly, I didn’t feel like lugging my camera with me for an 8+ hour walking tour of Paris.

Also, most of the museums (like the Louvre and the Musee d’Orsay)  have signs saying “no photography”, even though a lot of people violate this.  I’m such a goody goody.

My favorite day in Paris was our very last.  It was Brad and my two year wedding anniversary.  We went to the Rodin museum and I took more photos of the gorgeous roses than the statues. Then we picnicked with wine, almost got thrown out of the park (no, Rick Steves, you actually can’t drink wine in all the parks in Paris), did a little shopping, and went to an amazing dinner and a jazz club that has been around since the ’40s.

Below are some photos from these last days — mainly some photos I took on a boat tour of the Seine River and the photos from the Rodin Museum.  Enjoy!

  1. The Rodin Museum is one of my favorite places in Paris, I love it! Glad you got to check it out 🙂

Where did you stay in Paris? We are going there in a week and don’t have a hotel yet. Would you recommend your hotel? Thanks!!

    • We stayed at the Hotel Relais Bosquet in the Rue Cler neighborhood. I highly recommend it. Our room was small, but I think that is to be expected. It was very modern and the staff was extremely nice and helpful. There are a lot of great restaurants close by and it’s only a few blocks from the Eiffel Tower.

Thanks so much! Looks like that one is booked when we need it (but it looks so great!), but also thanks to your posts I found some recommendations from Rick Steves that I am going to look into. I’ve been loving these France posts- thanks for all the detail!

  3. Beautiful! I love that you guys did more than just Paris.

Hello! I love your blog! I came across your Paris posts recently and I am so glad because my husband and I are traveling to Italy and Paris in a few short weeks! I was hoping you could share the names of the hotels in Paris you stayed in and what your thoughts on them were. I’ve been looking at hotels in the same area you mentioned but haven’t had any luck with availability yet. Any information and travel tips you could give are much appreciated!!! Thanks:)

Hi! Stumbled across your blog, and wanted to say thanks! We did Italy for our honeymoon too, and our headed to France for our two year anniversary in one month! And we happen to be doing almost the same trip as you in France….so your posts on the vineyards were a big help!

    • My favorite thing we did was canoeing on the Dordogne River in Sarlat. If that isn’t on your list, it’s a must.

    • How ironic! I hope you have a wonderful time in France. If you have any questions at all about the things we did in France, please don’t hesitate to ask. Thanks for reading!

How long should I allow for on the canoe trip? We want to stop at the two villages Rick Steves talks about, have a picnic, and be able to explore Beynac at the end.

        • Hi Anik,
Depending on when you show up, the canoe company will drop you off at a certain starting point. So if you show up fairly early, they’ll drop you off at the starting point furthest away. We showed up late morning and still had time to stop at the two cities Rick Steves recommended, plus one more, plus we got out on a bank and had a picnic. I would just plan on it taking most of the day (late morning to late afternoon) and calling the canoe company as soon as you get in the Dordogne city you’re staying to ask their opinion of when you should plan to show up. We actually had our concierge call for us. If you don’t have a vehicle, they’ll arrange for someone to pick you up.

What was the other town you stopped in?

          • I’m sorry, I don’t remember. And I just loaned our guide to a friend who is traveling to Paris, else I would look it up for you. We definitely liked the towns Rick Steve recommended best. Our guides also told us which towns were worth stopping at, so maybe they could make another suggestion.

Do you have any favorite wineries you visited in Provence, looking back now?
