Every gal knows the benefit of a little black dress. We talk about them so often, we can’t even be bothered to spell out little-black-dress, usually referencing LBD for short.
Typically when I hear LBD, I think “cocktail dress”. But this particular LBD is definitely no cocktail dress. It’s more of a work appropriate LBD.
When I first ordered it online from a clearance sale at Banana Republic several months ago, I really thought there was more to this dress and was a bit dissappointed when it showed up.
It is very simple. No frills. No ruffles. No assymmetry.
But I have been pleasantly surprised at how versatile it is. It’s easily dressed up or down with the addition of accessories.
AND, as long as I don’t gain a little or lose a lot of weight, I can pretty much wear it until the end of time.

Oh, I love this! Plain black sweater dresses are such a wonderful closet staple. So simple and timeless, yet totally versatile, customizable via scarf. Plus, I love the shoes.
It’s actually not sweater material, although I can see why it might appear that way. It’s some medium weight fabric that can transition to almost any season…definitely the most versatile piece of clothing (besides a simple white t-shirt) that I’ve ever owned. Thanks (about the shoes). They’re so comfortable..I can walk for days in them!
Simple LBDs & scarves are my go to outfits for my casual office. I usually go for the classic #3 for scarf wearing.

I am not good at tying scarves. It’s pitiful, really, and I rarely change it up. I do change up my LBD though. I have a few different ones that are good for different occasions.
Scarves are one of the best accessories to jazz up an otherwise simple outfit! I saw that scarf suggestion sheet earlier this week on Pinterest and wanna spruce up my scarf styling skills!
I’m definitely scarf challenged. I think if I wore it like that I’d feel the urge to keep pulling it down through the belt all night, to adjust. But it looks cute!
