Gosh, it’s been a while since I did a fashion post.
I assure you, I have been getting dressed for work every morning and at some point during the weekend, the occasion arises where clothes other than p.j.’s and sweaty running clothes are a necessity.
Getting dressed for the Carolina heat is not easy. It has been close to 100 degrees almost every day this week. But alas, tank tops and bathing suits are not appropriate work apparel. I’ve improvised by wearing sleeveless tops under what else but cardigans.
And less you think that I actually wear these shoes to work, let me tell you what truly happens after these photos are snapped (in a mad rush, usually). On come the flip flops and in my purse go my work shoes. Flip flops are crucial for a five block walk and my shortcut through a gravel parking lot. My nice shoes will last longer this way and my feet will thank me later.
I really like pairing this patterned top with neutral colors like grey and black. Capris don’t always look so wonderful on a petite frame, but there’s something about pairing them with heels that makes them work so much better with my short legs.
Plus, black makes everything look better, don’t you think? It’s the magical color. 🙂
If you’re going through a summer heat wave, how are you dealing?
