Etsy love

You guys have heard of Etsy right?

Yes?

No?

If not, prepare to hand over the next three hours of your life to the Internet.

Etsy is a website where you can buy and sell handmade and vintage things.  It’s like Craigslist if everything on Craigslist was beautiful, intricate, and unique…

…and if there was no chance of being murdered and robbed because you wanted to check out someone’s stationary bike for sale.

Etsy is much safer and more fun.  You buy everything through Paypal (or by settling up with the Etsy shop owner via check).  You can search for an item (like “pearl ring”) then sort by price so you get every pearl ring from $2.99 to $11,000.  Yes, there is that much variety on Etsy.

A lot of Etsy shop owners will customize their handmade items for you.  If you’re planning a wedding, party, or shower and love customization, prepare to fall in love with Etsy.

I recently signed up for Heartsy, which is like Living Social or Groupon for Etsy.

I love it because there is not enough time in my lifetime to satisfy my Etsy appetite.  You can literally window shop..er, I mean screen shop (?) for days and get so distracted by all the pretty things, you won’t remember for what you were initially searching.  Heartsy offers you “groupon-ish” deals everyday on about five different Etsy stores so it helps direct your focus.

Much more time efficient. 🙂

So what does that have to do with my outfit?

I got my bauble earrings from a lovely little Etsy site called My dog and I. They have beautiful, dainty, handmade pieces of jewelry.  This was a Heartsy referral and I was very pleased with my purchase.

I kind of love these tiny cloth push pin earrings.   Wouldn’t it be fun to order enough to match every running outfit?  Runner’s World told me it’s okay to be girly in their latest issue, so I don’t feel the need to apologize for my silly accessorizing.

Do you love Etsy?  What’s been your greatest find?
