Brad and I went out with friends on Friday night to Brixx Pizza. Our good friends Jon and Heather were in town from San Francisco and we were so excited to meet their new baby, Avery.
I was pretty surprised when Brad asked to hold her. He never holds babies.
Isn’t she adorable?
We got started by ordering some appetizers for the table.
Pita and a trio of hummus
Spinach artichoke dip and crostini
I stuck to the hummus. Gosh, I love that stuff!
I parked myself right beside Heather so we could catch up and so I could have easy baby-holding access. 😉
Brad was so glad to be able to hang out with Jon. We miss our friends.
There were several other friends with us at dinner too, but I mainly stuck to photographing our end of the table.
For my entree, I ordered the Mediterranean salad with chicken, sans olives. Brixx has some really good salad choices, but this was my first time trying this one, and I thought it was pretty delicious for a chain-style restaurant. The were plenty of vegetables and I especially liked the addition of banana peppers.
After dinner, we hung out at a friend’s house for a while, before calling it a night.
Jon, Heather, and Avery head out of town on Tuesday, so we drove up to Salisbury (where they are staying) to see them one last time. Jon is a pretty talented photographer (much better than I am), so he snapped some photos of Brad, Avery, and I.
Here are a few of them.
Don’t we look good with a baby?
Just kidding — we are in no rush to start a family yet. As fun as playing with a baby is, we have way too much going on right now to throw a baby in the mix.
But at least it’s good to know that Brad knows how to appropriately hold one, when the time comes. 😉
