Basketball and breakfast to-go

Last night was so much fun!

I walked home, then rode my bike over to the new house to water the lawn.  Getting there took a lot longer than I thought.  I planned to run while the yard was watered and got in about 3.25 miles before hopping back on my bike and heading home.

Once home, I showered and changed quickly and headed a couple of blocks away to go to the Charlotte Bobcat’s game.

My friend Jess got free tickets from her boss and lucky for me, shared one with me.  C’heck out these sweet seats!

I know we were supposed to be pulling for the Bobcats, but it was hard not to cheer on Tyler Hansborough who now plays for Indiana (last yellow jersey on the right) after cheering him on for four years while he was at Carolina.

Dinner was an unphotographed Clif Builder’s Bar and was eaten while I was walking to the game.  I also had a handful of peanuts, pretzels, and two chocolate chip cookies at the game.  We had access to the Back Court Club to accompany our awesome seats.  This also included free booze. Needless to say, I enjoyed some beer.  Six years after college and I still get excited over free beer. 😉

After the game, I couldn’t wait any longer.  The holdout was killing me.  I did it.

I went to the grocery store…15 minutes before they closed, might I add.

And thank goodness or this delightful breakfast t0-go would have never happened this morning.

In my yogurt bowl:
-1 cup plain Stonyfield yogurt
– blackberries
– raw sunflower seeds
– dried cranberries
– 1 Tbsp. of PB

I also added 1/4 cup of Bob’s Red Mill 9 Grain Cereal (raw) to top my yogurt bowl when I ate it later at work.

The key to packing a lunch or breakfast that is just as enjoyable as if you had made it fresh, is to think about what needs to be packed separately so it doesn’t get soggy.  I wanted my oats to still have a bite, so I added them just before eating.  You wouldn’t pack your crackers in your soup, after all.

I also had coffee.  See the evidence?

What’s your favorite breakfast to-go?  Are you a sports fan? I’ll pretty much go to any game that is going to be lively, but don’t enjoy watching a lot of sports on TV (except Carolina basketball).  I love sporting events. 🙂
