Move over hot oatmeal…

This may be my new favorite way to eat oats.

It’s somewhat of a deconstructed overnight oats and it’s lovely. 🙂

3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
1/4 cup Bob’s Red Mill 9 Grain Cereal
1/2 sliced banan
small sprinkle of raisins
even smaller sprinkle of walnuts

…topped with a tablespoon of peanut butter of course!

Another way to think of this breakfast is yogurt and muesli, except I didn’t combine the muesli prior to eating this.

I think I forgot how to make a decent cup of coffee after drinking tea for a week, but it all came back to me today.  I just had this cup and am about to go back for a second half cup.

Brad left about 10 minutes ago for a week long business meeting and didn’t finish his coffee.  More for me! 🙂

But really, this is his second long trip in two weeks, plus he was gone this weekend, and it pretty much sucks.  We had plans to go to Richmond for a 10K this weekend that we usually run every year but I think we’re going to back out because he does not feel like traveling one more place this week.  Plus, we have things to work on at the new house …things like restoring windows, weeding, and planting flowers.

It probably seems like we’re backing out of races left and right, but this is just a particularly stressful time for both of us and traveling on the weekends can only make it that much worse.

It felt good to start the day with a healthy breakfast.  I’ve been really slack in the healthy eating department the past few days and I haven’t truly exercised in five whole days! There’s been way too much eating out, too much eating in general at dinner, then I don’t feel as hungry in the mornings, but I typically eat the same size breakfast anyway.  That doesn’t make a bit of sense.

I did do an insane amount of yard work on Saturday and Brad and I walked yesterday, although somewhat leisurely, for about 1 1/2 hours, so I haven’t been completely lazy.  Even still, I’m so ready to do some physical activity today after work.

Happy Monday!  Is it sad that I checked out the weather report for the upcoming weekend first thing this morning?
