Blue smoothies, red knees

I made something this morning that I haven’t had in a long time.

Blueberry smoothie in a bowl

Blueberry is Brad’s favorite smoothie flavor, so I made two at the same time.  This was so much easier than when I make my flavor, then have to rinse out the Vitamix before Brad can make his.  I forgot how delicious blueberry is.

Blueberry SIAB (for two)

2 cups almond milk
1 frozen banana
1 1/3 cup frozen spinach
1 1/3 cup frozen blueberries
2 scoops vanilla whey protein

Blend and eat.

But first, top it with my almond crunch granola.  You’ll be glad you did. 🙂

In other news, my knees are looking much better.  I’m going without the bandage on my right knee today.  I think the bandage was starting to irritate my skin because I wanted to scratch it all the time and the skin under the bandage started looking a little funky.  Now, I just need to remember to not cross my left leg over my right.  That doesn’t feel so hot.

Notice I’m wearing my running shoes?  Wearing running clothes puts me in the running mood, which I definitely plan on doing later today.

I also plan to swing by Earth Fare to pick up a free dinner.  That’s right, FREE.  If you live near an Earth Fare, you can get in on this too.  When you sign up for their new Welcome Home Program, they give you a coupon to turn in at any Earth Fare store and in return, you get free food.  I can’t turn that kind of deal down.

The countdown is on.  Today is the last day to enter my Tropical Traditions Coconut Flour giveaway!  You have until tomorrow morning at 9 am to get in your entries.
