The whole family came over yesterday for lunch.
Brad spend the whole morning hooking up the Wally and Joy’s new TV and the Apple TV we gave them.
Rascal doesn’t know what to think when there are a lot of people in the house. He immediately went and hid his bone because no one is to be trusted.
There really is no designated kid’s table, but we made one out in the sunroom when all of the grandkids decided to eat together.
I filled my plate with a sweet potato biscuit, turkey, dressing, mash potatoes and a bit of gravy, broccoli casserole, sweet potato casserole, and my carmelized maple brussel sprouts.
I got a lot of compliments on my brussel sprouts. 🙂
Then there was pie…my there was a lot of pie.
And cookies…gingersnap cookies. Joy made these. She doesn’t put the cross hatch design on top with her fork and I think by not doing so, they turn out even softer and chewier. Something I definitely need to remember for next year.
I had tiny slivers (think 1/2 inch) of sweet potato pie and coconut. Brad and I got into the cookies the night before so I was ready for pie today.
Everyone sat around talking for a couple of hours after eating.
Before the grandparents left we gave them their Christmas gift. Wally and Joy gave them a DVD player and a DVD about Currituck.
We spent the rest of the evening trying to download and watch the movie The Town. The first hour we actually watched was very good, but unfortunately the Internet was having connectivity issues so we never actually go to download the entire movie. We’re going to try again this morning.
My family said they had a lot of snow back home and we woke this morning to the snow pouring down. Looks like it’s going to be a lazy day inside. I don’t run in blizzards. 😉
