Alo review

I must have been super exhausted because I slept almost 10 hours Friday night.  Truth be told, I had been struggling at work all day Thursday because I was so tired.  I think my body has gotten used to eight hours of sleep and since I’ve only managed to get in 7-7.5 hours all week, it as not happy.  Now I feel great!

I asked Brad what he wanted for breakfast and he said he wanted smoothies since he didn’t feel like he had been getting enough greens in his diet. Smoothie means green monster at my house!

I used my basic pumpkin green monster recipe, except I forgot the vanilla and added cloves because cloves are awesome in anything orange and squashy!

Aren’t these soda fountain glasses fun?  I got them at Crate and Barrel on Cyber Monday.

The last of my granola went on top.

A couple of days ago Alo sent me this really cool top to try out from their new line.

I have never tried Alo’s clothing before but I was super excited to try out this fun top.

A little bit about Alo’s clothing line:
Through the use of recycled and minimal impact materials, alo creates high performance activewear that delivers superb function, fit and style. With environmentally mindful design and production processes, our men’s and women’s collections utilize eco-friendly performance fabrics that provide outstanding comfort and results. Our most technically advanced Bamboo Jersey fabric has inherent properties that wick moisture and is naturally anti-bacterial, hypoallergenic and breathable with no added chemicals.

Not only does Alo create environmentally friendly products, they also utilize many environmentally friendly business practices.  You can learn more about this by vising their About page on their website.

Some things I really loved about the top:

– It’s way more interesting and pretty than most of the exercise tops I wear
– It has razor back straps which are so wonderful for small shoulder girls like me (anything with spaghetti straps falls right off).
– It has a built-in shelf bra

I have noticed that a lot of fitness bloggers comment on how they have to wear two sport bras.  Believe me, this does not apply to me, but with a built-in shelf bra, two sport bras are never needed.  One will work just fine.  For smaller chested girls like myself, I can wear this top and get away with one of my cheap sport bras that have very little support.

And look, it comes in blue!  The folks at Alo took one look at my blog and new to send me the pink one. 😉

I loved it! Be sure to check out Alo’s 2010 Holiday Photo Shoot to see the newest styles.

Sporting my new Alo top, I did two quick circuits  I took it easy because I wasn’t in the mood to work out today and since I haven’t taken a day off from working out all week, I figured that there was a reason my body wanted a little rest.

A little later that afternoon, Brad and I met with our architect to discuss the layout of the kitchen.  I had a few requests, like a pantry.  We had to get creative to decide where it would go.  Things are coming along with the house, slowly but surely.  We are thinking it is going to be next spring before we’re really ready to move in.

Later that night, we were off to my cousin’s 13th birthday party.  I can hardly believe she is 13.  I babysat her the entire summer when she was about 6-8 months old and I was only 15.  It seems like only yesterday!
