Sunday morning was spent blogging, transferring more winter clothes upstairs from our storage unit, and haphazard dusting.
After a nice lunch of Mellow Mushroom leftovers, I was ready for some active rest. The day after a 20 miler is not a day for exercise. But there was plenty to do at the new house that would keep me from sitting around on my bum all day.
So from 1 – 4:30 pm I raked leaves. I raked and I raked and I raked. And then I bagged leaves. I bagged and I bagged and I bagged.
6 bags of leaves from the front yard
6 bags of leaves from the backyard
Twelve bags of leaves later, my back was telling me to stop even though I had two little piles left. One of our neighbors from around the corner told me she had been bagging leaves for two days. I didn’t mention to her that it only took me three and a half hours. Leaves: 0, Kelly: 1.
I returned home and took a nice hot shower and rested a bit before getting started on dinner.
Thankfully, we had anticipated dinner and pulled out some of my grandfather’s barbecue from the freezer. I also added roasted acorn squash and my sweet and spicy brussel sprouts.
Brussel sprouts really do go so well with pork. This was quick and easy after a long afternoon of hard work. Brad and I also split the last bit of the bottle of wine we opened the night before.
Now it’s onto bed super early so I can get in a super early workout and make it to work on time.
Speaking of which, I planned out my exercise goals early last week. Here’s how I did:
Monday: 30 Day Shred Level 1 + 30 minutes cardio
Tuesday: 4 mile run with Nicole 5 mile run on the treadmill
Wednesday: 30 Day Shred Level 1 + 30 minutes cardio 30 minutes of cardio + 10 minutes weights
Thursday: Charlotte Southpark Turkey Trot 8K
Friday: No More Trouble Zones
Saturday: 20 mile run (YIKES!) YES!
Sunday: Off Rake and bag leaves for 3 1/2 hours
