Run, dinner, dessert

Despite being oh so tired yesterday, I met Brittney and another friend, Michelle for a run in South Charlotte.  We met near Michelle’s apartment and ran 2.5 miles out and back for a total of 5 miles.  It was a nice run at an easy pace.  We were so surprised how fast the sun went down.  The last bit of our run was practically in complete darkness!

While Michelle went home for a bit, Britt and I headed over the Earth Fare, for what else but their awesome salad bar.

I got a little out of control.  I swear there’s a bed of spinach underneath all of those specialty salads.  My favorite, per usual, was the stuffed grape leaf.  Where have they been all my life?

I can’t get talk about this meal without mentioning the really gross man in Earth Fare.  He was sampling stuff off the salad bar and then licking his fingers!  Ew, gross.  I whispered it to Brittney thinking it was a one time thing, only to turn around and see him at it again.  Double gross.  I almost told the cashier but what were they going to do about it?

After Earth Fare, we went to Pinkberry to complete my Tour de Charlotte Fro-Yo.

They had some really great toppings including waffle cone cookies and chocolate crisps.

Plus lots of yummy fruit.

I had to try the dark chocolate crisps.  I liked them because you get the taste of chocolate but because they have a different center (almost like a rice crispie) they don’t get hard in the cold fro-yo like chocolate chips do.

My creation: a small chocolate and coconut with dark chocolate crisps, coconut, and double the raspberries.

It was soooo good, but I’m not sure if it was $5.41 good.  From what I remember, TCBY, Yoforia, and Tastey-yo is all much cheaper (like $3-$4 for the same amount).

But just to be doubly sure, I might have to revisit them all to do a cost/taste analysis.  Fro-Yo crawl anyone?
