Lunch plan fail

Somehow I got it in my head today that we were having a spaghetti lunch fundraiser for United Way at work today.  I even bummed a five off of Brad so I could participate.

Fail.

Not only could I not find the $5 he swears he put in my purse, but also today was not the day of the fundraiser.  So, I did what I never do…I went out for lunch. Why do I never go out for lunch?  Because there’s nowhere foodie fresh enough to eat around my office at and packing my lunch is a great way to save money.

Fifteen minutes down some long country roads and I finally found the closest Starbuck$.  I at least had the forethought to grab an apple, which I ate with the egg white spinach and tomato wrap.   According to their website, Starbucks makes several different types of sandwiches…but this location only carried breakfast sandwiches.  No matter, This was super yummy but smaller than I thought it would be.

Yes, that is a seat belt in the photo.  I ate in the car, but not while driving.  I ate in the parking lot listening to NPR.  I had another errand to run, so I didn’t have any other option.

This guy was on fire! I tried to break him in two so you could see the inside, but this is about as far as I got.  I nibbled on the end until the middle was cool enough to eat.  Basically, it’s just a fancy hot pocket.  Jim Gaffigan should add this to his stand-up routine.  I paid almost $4 for a fancy hot pocket, and yes, it was lava boiling hot in the center.

My hair straightener, which I only use for smoothing purposes because my hair is already super straight, was shooting sparks this morning at me.  I took that as a sign of danger, so I also swung by Targét (tar-jay) for a new straightener and some face wash.

I didn’t escape without this Lärabar begging me to buy and consume him, so I obliged.  I’m convinced that PB is the magical ingredient in the really good Lara bars.  I like the rest okay, but the PB cookie and the PB and chocolate chip cookie are super duper good.

Maybe a new homemade version is on the horizon. 😉
