Out to lunch

Since Brad had to work today, I headed to lunch at Crepe Cellar with Brittney, Greg, Tim and Sarah.  I love the Crepe Cellar and have been many times, but especially for brunch.  You can read about past visits here, here, and here.  I have been there for brunch and dinner way more times than what has been documented in my blog.  You could say that I’m a tried and true customer.

Per my recommendation, Britt, Greg, and I ordered the pesto brie French fires.  Who would have guessed that I recommended the only item with pesto? 😉

We made a major dent in it waiting for Tim and Sarah to arrive and by the time our entrees came, we had pretty much all licked the plate clean.  They really are that good.  I made a mental note that I had pesto paste and Brie in the fridge at home.  Now how could I use them?

Even though I’ve been to The Crepe Cellar about a zillion times, I still had trouble deciding what to order.  I decided to forgo my usual Eggs Florentine for a more lunch-y item, since I had already had breakfast.  Lucky for me, Brittney likes to split entrees, while Greg does not.  So I often luck out and split things with her.  Also lucky for me, we’re usually eying the same menu items, so we both win.

I ordered the one crepe on the menu I’ve never had, the ham and Gruyere which comes with a maple Dijon sauce.  I remembered a friend ordering this before and saying that the sauce was very sweet, so I ordered it on the side.  I also ordered the best steamed spinach I’ve ever had.  I know there was vinegar in it, but besides that I’m stumped as to what made it so delicious.

After we snapped our respective photos, we split our meals.

Brittney ordered the spinach and wild mushroom crepe with caramelized shallots and goat cheese.  The order comes with two so she handed me her second crepe while I cut my huge crepe in half.  I managed to eat all of the veggie crepe and most of the ham and Gruyere.

Lovely as usual. 🙂 There’s a reason I keep coming back to this place.

A semi-quick trip to Trader Joe’s for groceries (that place is a madhouse during the weekend!) and I returned home to find Brad hard at work.  I did a few things around the house, then got ready to go to power mixed yoga, grabbing an apple and a small handful of almonds on my way out the door.  For some reason my lunch didn’t hold me over as well as it usually does.

Sunday has been my yoga day off and on for a while.  I hope I can find the time to continue to fit it in (maybe on Fridays) when Sundays become my long run day as my marathon training plan dictates.

What exercise do you make sure to make time for during the week?  If you had to give up all other exercises, which one would you choose to do for the rest of your life?
