I had plans last night to meet Jessie for fro-yo and hit up a hot yoga class.
I kept dinner light so I wouldn’t have an unpleasant yoga experience and so I would have room for much-more-important frozen yogurt. I made a quick breakfast sandwich with egg, avocado, and Laughing Cow cheese on a TJ’s whole wheat “British” muffin. This sandwich never gets old! In my less creative cooking days, I would just eat this every day of the week. That’s how much I love it.
The fro-yo at Yoforia was euphoric, as usual. I basically get the same thing every single time I go. It’s been at least two months since I was at Yoforio so I was super excited about this trip.
My usual: mostly dark chocolate and peanut butter (my favorite!), with just a bit of ferrero roche (hazelnut) and cookies and cream. My toppings were strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, dark chocolate chips, and coconut.
I was kind of skimpy on the toppings and immediately regretted my decision to not add more.
I had intended to go to yoga at 8:30 but as the time to leave approached, I found myself getting really tired. I go to bed typically between 9-10 so 8:30 is a very ambitious time for me to do anything active. Jessie mentioned that she would love a glass of wine and that was all I needed to abandon my yoga plans.
Trust me, there was no arm twisting involved. The power of suggestion is strong. 😉
We headed across the street to Mellow Mushroom, where I ordered the Shoofly Shiraz and Jessie ordered a Pinot Grigio. I had a wonderful time catching up with her. We haven’t seen each other in months and months! Despite the very loud trivia game going on (of which Jessie and I knew exactly zero answers), we managed to carry on conversation while we sipped our wine.
When Brad and I finally move into our new house, we’ll live very close to Jessie and her husband. It will be so nice to have friends close-by. 🙂
I returned home to find that Brad had ordered Thai food takeout with our friend Thomas and had ordered me some as well. I couldn’t resist after my very light dinner and ended up eating a small bowl of noodles, shrimp, chicken, and bamboo shoots. Thai food is heaven.
After a bit of blog reading, I headed to bed.
What a fun night! I’m so excited to start my new job and be in the city all the time so I can have little girlfriend dates like I did tonight. Female friendships are a vital part of my happiness. I think working in town will allow me to invest more time in my friendships with the incredible women I know.
