On the way home from work yesterday, I snacked on a Mojo bar. This was very similar to the Peanut Butter Pretzel flavor. It still had the yummy sweet and salty combination. But, the peanut butter had a leg up over this bar just because I love peanut butter so much.
Still, very yummy!
I often bounce back and forth between wanting to listen to music and wanting to listen to NPR in the car. However, when I’m in the car, NPR seems to be inundated with news on foreign policy and politics, which I cannot listen to for over an hour twice a day. So several months ago, I downloaded the NPR app for the iPhone. I can listen to all kinds of current news on the things that I am interested in, without having to wait through all the things I am not interested or have already heard that day. It’s great!
On this particular ride, I listened to a segment on raw cheese. Very interesting.
When I arrived home, this cute little lunchbox was waiting for me in the fridge.
Look what was inside! New flavors from Chobani! There was mango, lemon, black cherry, and their two new kids’ flavor: honey-nana and berry.
Even though I already had a snack, I couldn’t wait to break into one of the small kid-size portions.
I love all things banana and honey flavored so of course, I really loved the honey-nana. Same delicious Chobani flavor and texture, but in a smaller size for kids. I ate it with some almond crunch granola x 3. This is the danger in stumbling upon the best granola recipe I’ve ever tried. It tastes way too good to just eat a little.
Brad and I decided to tackle our five mile run in the dark since the weather isn’t that cold, even after the sun goes down. For some reason, I was in no mood to fire up the Garmin. It was particularly aggravating the last time I used it and refused to locate the satellites for what seemed like an eternity. So instead, I mapped out five miles on Google Maps, which I always do, and we left the Garmin at home. We both felt like we were running much faster than usual, so I regretted not having the Garmin to confirm this. We tore up the huge hill at the end. We definitely had our running legs on last night.
Brad’s doctor confirmed that his knee issue isn’t serious. He told Brad to take Aleve every few hours to help with inflammation and to start doing quad exercises, which we will tackle tonight.
I kind of messed up a little by not referring to our marathon training plan last week and thinking that I remembered what to do. We were only supposed to run six miles last Sunday, while we ran 10. We also were supposed to run six miles last night, instead of five. Oh well. No harm done.
But I have learned my lesson. I need to refer to my training plan periodically. My brain cannot remember everything with no help.
I wasn’t extremely hungry for dinner, thanks to my two snacks and my excessive amount of granola, so I whipped up a light dinner.
Trader Joe’s Masala burger and kale chips with ketchup
I swear there was a burger underneath this. This is my favorite way to eat Masala burgers. I heat two big spoonfuls of diced tomatoes mixed with one big spoonful of tomato paste and a heavy shake of garam masala. I top my burger with this and follow it up with a big dollop of plain Greek yogurt, which I sprinkle generously with red curry. Soooo delicious!
Even though I wasn’t very hungry for dinner, you know I saved room for chocolate afterwards. I’m almost at the end of this dark chocolate bar. I thought it was a Dagoba bar, but that is not correct. I’ll have to double check because this might be the best dark chocolate I’ve ever had.
What’s your favorite chocolate brand? Or, your favorite way to eat chocolate?
