Dodging tornadoes

Last night I just nearly missed two storms with tornadoes.  I had a work dinner to attend and the first storm hit during dinner, the second storm hit about 30 minutes after I had gotten out of the area to head home.  Today, storms hit again and the word went out around work that if we heard the alarm, it was not a drill, but in fact a real tornado was heading our way.

Luckily, the alarm never went off and the storm passed us by with no tornadoes in our area.

Rewind to lunch…

I came in late last night and didn’t pack my lunch before heading to bed.  I was exhausted! Luckily when I put the nutty sweet potato soup in the fridge on Sunday night, I also packaged it in a smaller container for an easy-to-grab lunch.

On the side I had a spinach salad with roasted corn and chickpeas, plus a drizzle of lemon juice and honey.  My sweet ending was a Macintosh apple.

It’s been raining aaaall day.  It’s a good thing I don’t have a run planned tonight.  Instead, I’m going to hot yoga with some fun ladies.  Hot means 100-105 degrees versus the ~95 degrees it usually is at Y2.  It’s been several weeks since I went to yoga, so this should be interesting. Hopefully I won’t fall asleep like I did last time. 😉
