Packing and a package

Greetings from the Charlotte airport!  Thank goodness for free wireless.  Charlotte Douglas has it going on in being super-blogger friendly.

Let’s rewind to yesterday…

Lunch was an egg/goat cheese/spinach sandwich with some Chobani and “melting” raspberries, plus the last kiwi in my fruit bowl and a lone carrot.

I made my egg mixture by nuking it all in a ramekin in the microwave for one minute.  Word to the wise: if you ever pack a sandwich using any brand of sandwich thin and the fillings have any moisture at all, toast the sandwich thin first or you will end up with a soggy mess.  Trust me, I learned this the hard way in the past.  But I don’t make that mistake any more.

I worked through lunch so I could make a quick stop (If you call a 20 minute drive quick) at the nearest Barnes and Noble.

I think I’m the last person on the planet to read this book and I knew I would need some additional reading material for my trip out to San Jose.  Four books (some half read) should be enough.  I love to read on plane trips. 🙂

After skimming the back, I’m kind of shocked at the amount of processed fake meats they build into their “eating plan”.  I’m reading this for informational purposes.  I have no plan to actually follow their eating plan, but I’m a little flabbergasted just the same.  I’ll share all of my thoughts once I’ve read it completely to be fair.

Work is super busy when I have to leave for the next five days.  The day flew by and I returned home to a cool package waiting for me.

Emily with Chobani, recently contacted me to see if I might like to try some of their products.  I’ve only tried a few of their flavors before since I’m more of a plain-yogurt-girl, but I jumped at the chance because I love trying new things.

The concierge must have brought the box up to the condo because of the keep refrigerated sign on the side of the box.

I rifled through a lot of green peanuts.

Where the heck is my yogurt?

Aw, the nice people at the concierge desk actually opened up the box and put the yogurt in my fridge.  I probably should have noticed the box was open, right?  This is one of the things I will miss most about moving from the condo to the house: people being available to accept packages, and take care of them in some cases, 24 hours a day.

Sweet!

I couldn’t imagine having to actually make something for dinner with all the packing ahead of me, so I picked up an Annie’s Organics frozen pizza at the store.  I’ve never bought these before and was kind of surprised at how small it was compared to the calorie content on the nutrition label.  I am not a calorie counter (anymore), but when buying new things I’m curious to know how much energy I’m getting for the amount of food I’m eating.

I added some pesto to the first two slices, then ended up eating the other two as is.  The slices were very small.  I don’t think I’ll be buying this again.  Granted, had I added a salad, or wasn’t deliberately putting off packing (I really hate to pack), I probably could have stopped after the first two slices.  No matter.

And there was wine.  At this point I was basically bribing myself to start packing, although I’m sure wine could never be helpful in the packing process.

See you in Houston for my layover if I can get a connection.  If not, I’ll be in San Jose before I blog again.
