Unappetizing blue

I read somewhere once that blue is unappetizing…

I have to agree that this does not look appetizing, but I assure you, it is.

My smoothie in a bowl contained:

1 cup almond mlk
1/2 frozen banana
~2/3 cup frozen strawberries
~2/3 cup blueberries
~1 cup spinach
1 scoop soy + spirulina vanilla protein powder (whey works too!)
bit of Stevia to taste

Topped with 1 tsp. of Tropical Traditions  coconut cream concentrate.  I just love this stuff on a cold smoothie.  It’s just like a coconut magic shell.

The jar is so huge!  I told Brad that at this rate I’m going to have this jar of coconut cream when we have grandkids.

Here’s a math word problem for you:  If I have a 32 oz. jar of coconut cream and I eat about 3 servings a week, which is one teaspoon, how many years will it take me to eat the whole jar?

More blue on the side:  a piece of cinnamon raisin Ezekiel Toast with a shmear of Tofutti Better Than Cream Cheese and an even larger shmear of superfruit spread.

Can you spot the beggar in this photo?  That’s what we call Rascal when he’s begging for food.  Brad banished him to his bed while I was trying to eat breakfast, but in a small condo, no one can escape the eyes of Rascal.  He’s such a mess.  😉

After breakfast I suited up in my cold weather tights and my Disney Marathon shirt.  I also added a jacket.

Andrea and I met recently at a Christmas party and decided that we should go running together.  She lives only a few blocks from me so it was really convenient to meet up with her.

We ran just over five miles and I felt great! We took it easy and even had to walk a few times because some of the sidewalks and streets are still frozen over in places.  I was a little worried that it would take me a while to feel good again while running.  I’ve read and heard from other runners that sometimes you feel fatigued for several weeks after a marathon.

After our run I got busy on my list of things-to-do.  I wanted to get a million things done today, but I know that I always over-plan myself so I’ll be happy if I get half of them done.

Happy Saturday!
