I heard good things about a new restaurant, Krazy Fish, a couple of months ago. After asking several friends about whether they have tried it, we finally decided to try it for ourselves last night.
The first thing I noticed when I walked into the restaurant was the mannequin suspended from the ceiling.
The entire restaurant is very eclectically (“krazily”) decorated with random objects and childrens’ toys.
I started off a Pacifico with lime.
Brad enjoyed a Newcastle.
Brad also ordered chips and salsa for the table.
I loved that they had such a huge selection of salsas.
Salsa de Arbol: tomatillos and roasted Arbol chiles;
Salsa Verde: roasted tomatillos, jalapenos, and onions; and
Tropical Salsa: papaya, mango, pablano peppers, and lime
Shenanigans ensued while we waited on dinner.

Thomas and I
Soon our food arrived and everyone was eager to show off their beautiful plates.
Erin ordered the ceviche tacos with the Gringo salsa and the cheddar cheese grits souffle.
I had a bite of her souffle — very very cheesy.
Thomas ordered the poached shrimp tacos on soft corn tortillas with salsa de arbol and green beans.
Brad and I were still full from a late lunch so we split the ceviche tacos and had the corn maque chou.
The tacos and salsa were delicious. From the looks of our plates, it seems that Krazy Fish is a taco place, but the menu offers so many other dishes. From roti to pho, from fried fish to pad Thai, their “global” menu is eclectic and fun. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and the service was excellent.
The decor may be a little off-putting for some people. I’m not really a big fan of mannequins. I think they’re kind of creepy, but I can get over it for delicious food. I have one small complaint: the sides. I’m pretty sure the vegetables in our sides were canned. Not a huge fan of canned veggies, especially when it’s summer and the vegetables are so plentiful.
Overall, we had a great experience, delicious food, wonderful company and I would definitely go back to Krazy Fish to try their other unique dishes.
