My 7 Links

I was recently tagged to share my seven links by Carolina and Lee and finally have gotten around to posting it. (Thanks for tagging me, ladies!)

So here’s what 7 links is all about…

THE GOAL

To unite bloggers (from all sectors) in a joint endeavor to share lessons learned and create a bank of long but not forgotten blog posts that deserve to see the light of day again.

THE RULES

1) Blogger is nominated to take part
2) Blogger publishes his/her 7 links on his/her blog – 1 link for each category.
3) Blogger nominates up to 5 more bloggers to take part.
4) These bloggers publish their 7 links and nominate another 5 more bloggers
5) And so it goes on!
6) We’ll be sharing the best posts from participating bloggers on our blog and everyday on Facebook and Twitter at #My7Links

I really tried to keep it to seven links, but it ended up being more like nine.  I’ve never been very good at following rules.

So here goes…

Most Beautiful: In my very biased opinion, this one, Love in photos, is my most beautiful post.

Most Popular:  According to Google Analytics, The last five pounds is my post with the most page hits.  I feel validated that so many of you have read this.  It definitely communicates to me that other people deal with the whole “diet-thinking traps”, as I do.  I sometimes find myself slipping back into this pattern of thinking and have gone back and read this post.  It keeps me on track with the no dieting lifestyle that I have found makes me most happy.

Most Controversial: I don’t think my posts come off as very controversial, or maybe people who have strong opinions or disagree* just haven’t been very vocal on my blog.  If I had to guess the topic I’ve covered that would insight the most controversy, it would be Conversation with Dad, which is about cattle feed lots.  Some people (including me obviously, if you read the post) have strong feelings about the origin of their meat, so the potential for controversy is there, even if no one tried to incite a riot in my comment section.

*If you ever find yourself disagreeing with something I’ve written here, please feel free to say so.  I’m completely open to other schools of thought and different perspectives, especially if it’s communicated in a respectful way.  Blogging isn’t quite as fun if there’s no thoughtful discussion.

I passed through the seven levels of the Candy Cane forest, through the sea of swirly twirly gum drops, and then I ran through the Epcot entrance gate.

Most Helpful: I got a lot of good feedback on Is Disney for you? which summarized my thought process behind choosing the Disney World Marathon as my first marathon.  In the post I write about the different things you might want to consider when choosing a race and especially when choosing a marathon.  However, I’ve also been told by several friends and local Charlotteans that they find my restaurant page to be helpful.

Surprise Success: Lisa Frank and newer vices was definitely one of those posts that left me scratching my head wondering why it got so many page hits.  Apparently the Lisa Frank love is still going strong, not only in my heart, but in others’ hearts as well.  I sincerely apologize to all of you who click on my link thinking that I’m selling some second-hand gingerly-used Trapper Keeper. I’m also sorely sad that I didn’t hold on to the several Trapper Keepers and unused stickers that I had for so many years.  I’m pretty sure I could have made a mint off of them. 😉

Not Enough Attention: Although, not really a post, Rascal can never really get enough attention.  In fact, he’s been asking if he can do a guest post and I don’t think I can get out of it.  I’ve tried to explain that he lacks the opposable thumbs to type, but he seems to ignore my reasoning.

Most Proud: I can’t really choose just one so I’ve decided to choose a food-related post and a fitness-related post.  I’m very proud of my peanut butter coconut bars with chickpeas because they turned out to be amazing, even if I’m more of a cook than a baker.  Picking the fitness post I’m most proud of is easy; it’s my Disney World Marathon recap, not necessarily because it’s more well-written than most, but because of the dedication and training that went into making that post possible.

Now, it’s my turn to nominate five other bloggers.  I’m nominating

The pretty mama (Brittany) from A Healthy Slice of Life
The glowing bride-to-be (Kristen) from Eating R.D.
The new-to-the-area fellow Charlottean (Mary) from Fervent Foodie
My soon-to-be Healthy Living Summit roommate and hopefully new friend (Stephanie) from Food and Fitness For Real
A sweet California girl (Nicole) from Sugar Coated Sisters

Have you been tagged to post your 7 links? I love these little activities! If you have participated, feel free to link to your 7 link post in the comments section. 🙂
