Sometimes you just need a change of scenery.
Brad swooped me up from work for lunch yesterday and after a quick salad, we stopped by the park near our new house. I used the opportunity to photograph my outfit of the day.
My change of scenery this weekend provided me with the opportunity to pop into Beacon’s Closet, a vintage and modern clothing consignment shop.
Imagine if all of your friends put the contents of their closet in one room and told you could purchase anything for half the price they originally paid.
It’s a good thing I don’t live in Brooklyn, else I would have spent the better part of my 20′s there pouring through their racks of gently used clothing.
I walked out with the satin watermelon hued top with cream flowers shown above. It’s strapless and I love it. I also purchased a puce colored (isn’t Wikipedia fun?) sweater with an interesting asymmetrical neckline, which won’t emerge from my closet until November.
Where is your favorite shopping destination? As much as I love NY, I really like how Newbury Street in Boston is one street full of my favorite stores. It’s convenient and efficient.
I also *really* love the Orlando Premium Outlets on Vineland Ave. My pocketbook (and Brad) are appreciative that I live several hundred miles from both of these places.

Love that top! It’s cute and the color is really nice.
My favorite shopping destination is Montreal, QC. It has stores I like that we don’t have here (like H&M and Simons) and loaded with boutiques.
I like Montreal a lot too. I’ve never been to Simons, but we have an H&M in Raleigh now.
Love the shoes. I am a HORRIBLE shopper and end up losing my patience. The one place I can always muster up some enthusiasm for is Anthropologie- so wherever one is located is my destination of choice.
Oh Anthropolgie is the way to go if you have to spend your patience somewhere. I love pretty much anything and everything in that store.
I loved shopping in San Diego when I lived there last year. There were a lot of boutiques in the downtown area of Pacific Beach and it was awesome. It’s always nice to find relatively affordable clothes that are more one-of-a-kind than department stores have to offer.
I’ve never been to San Diego but always hear really great things about it.
I love that outfit! It’s so different but chic and classic. Another winner, Kelly
Thanks Jen!
