Green and Black

I recently fell in love with the design genius behind the blog Bright Bazaar.  I especially love his Colour Cocktails — putting together unlikely colors that pop when they meet their match.

I plan to return to the Bright Bazaar blog when I start choosing colors for our new house, but in the mean time, I’ve been inspired in other ways.

I was in a very green and black mood one day.  Maybe I was feeling even a bit amphibious.  Rather than take a dip in the pool or munch on a fly for dinner, I decided to dress the part.

– Layered seafoam green and white striped tiny capped sleeve blouse over a white button-up blouse with larger cap sleeves, both form fitting at the waist
– Cinched with a large braided black belt
– Wide leg black cotton blend pants

This was fine and dandy for work, but evening plans outside on a gorgous day called for something a little more informal.

 – Cotton black dress with crocheted knit bust
– Green ruffled 3/4 sleeve cardigan
– Same large braided black belt
– Black pointy-toe flats with metal embellishments

Would you believe that I put on this second outfit with no plan to stick to the same color scheme?  ‘Tis true.
