A lovely dreary day

The next time you want something chocolatey, especially for breakfast, but you don’t want something uber sweet, you’ve got to try this.

Take on slice of thick whole wheat bread and lightly toast it.  Then, spread about 1 oz. of creme fraiche on it with generous sprinkles of unsweetened cocoa powder.

It’s so dark and chocolatey, but be forewarned not sweet at all.  I loved it!

I can’t take credit for this delicious discovery.  I’m pretty sure I read it in French Women Don’t Get Fat or the website.  Love that book!

Paired with my last juicy sweet navel orange; it was perfect. 🙂

I enjoyed a rainy walk to work (I actually like walking in the rain if I am wearing the appropriate shoes, which I was), then a dreary walk to and from lunch at home, then back home again at the end of the day.

Altogether, I typicallywalk about 45 minutes a day, very briskly might I add, to and from work and the condo.

I decided to use some of the leftover crepes to make a savory dinner.

I cooked some boneless chicken thighs on the grill pan and simply sprinkled them with salt and pepper. Meanwhile, I sauteed some sliced baby portobella mushroom and zucchini in some balsamic vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, and worchestershire sauce.

I spread a bit of pesto on each crepe, cut up the chicken into bite size chunks, then add the chicken and veggies to the crepes.  Lastly, I made a quick cream sauce with plain yogurt, creme fraiche, and just a bit of gruyere I grated with my microplane.

It’s hard to choose whether I prefer sweet or savory crepes because both this and my sweeter tropical crepes are both so different, yet so tastey.  Don’t make me choose! 😉

After dinner, Brad and I took a leisurely walk for about 30 minutes with Rascal.

It was dreary and foggy Uptown, yet still very pretty wtih the blooming trees and flowers with the skyline in the back ground.

Brad turned in early, while I watched yet another French film, Priceless (Hors de Prix). It was cute; an enjoyable movie but not as thought provoking as I prefer in movies.  Thanks to your suggestions, I have quite a few more Audrey Tatou movies in my Netflix que.  🙂

Brad headed to Atlanta early this morning for work, but lucky for me, I have a nice little evening planned with some lovely ladies. 😉
