The night before

My marathon recap is not quite ready so here is my pre-marathon dinner. 🙂

I did a little research on pizza in the Orlando area, which is my pre-race and pre-long run dinner of choice.  I decided on BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse.  They have a good variety of Chicago style deep dish pizza and a nice beer selection for Brad.  He totally earned a good beer after his half marathon yesterday.

I gulped down water…

…while Brad enjoyed a beer that reminded me of Bad Penny.  Of course, I had to have a little sip, just for tasting purposes.

Lucky for us, our waiter informed us that since there was a game on, it was happy hour and all the mini pizzas and appetizers were 1/2 off.  That’s a pretty good deal, if you ask me!

I ordered the Mediterranean pizza, sans olives (yuck) and chicken because I wasn’t in a meaty mood.  So basically the pizza had feta cheese, pesto, sundried tomatoes, feta, and pepperoncini.

Brad got the BJ’s special without olives.  It had pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, and tomatoes.  There may have been some other stuff, be he’s asleep and I’m not waking him up to ask him. 😉

Our pizzas were very mini so we also ordered the chicken pesto flatbread.

Now I’m going to let you in on a little secret that really only Brad knew about yesterday. I had some major stomach issues yesterday after lunch and on into the night.  I had to force myself to eat this because I knew I would need the carbs for my marathon today.  But, I did not feel good and I was super worried.  After getting sick earlier this week and now the stomach issues, I was majorly worried about the marathon and how I would do it.

We turned in around 8 pm because of our second 3 am wakeup call.  I took one Tylenol PM to assure that I would fall asleep and laid out all of my clothes for the morning.

I also crossed my fingers and said a prayer that I would feel better in the morning.

Stay tuned…
