Savory bar

My breakfast did not hold me over this morning.  Around 10:20 I started getting hunger pains and knew I better eat something fast because I had a meeting at 10:30.

I received this Journey bar in my swag bag from Metro Fitness Club.  A savory bar?  I was intrigued.  I was feeling unimaginative packing my lunch last night so I threw this in to supplement my sandwich and fruit.

The verdict?  Really interesting and really good.  If you like curry then you will really like this flavor.  The curry was not subtle.  But I LOVE curry, so I loved the flavor.  The texture was really interesting.  It was very dense and firm, although not hard.  It wasn’t bread-like, it wasn’t crumbly or seedy, it was…I’m still not sure.  Just dense and really delicious. Now I’m really curious about the Parmesan Romano flavor.

I had a visitor in my office today.

What the heck is this thing?  It’s like a cross between a centipede and a catfish.  Weird.  If I wasn’t on the phone when I spotted it, it would have been a stain on my wall for sure.

Appetizing right?  Let’s move on to lunch! 😉

After my meeting I finally was ready for lunch.  I’m so glad I intentionally made extra roasted veggies last night for dinner.

I incorporated them into lunch by making a roasted veggie sandwich.  I toasted a TJ’s whole wheat sandwich thin and then slathered one side with Laughing Cow and the other with pesto. Then I dumped all of the veggies onto the sandwich.  Those that wouldn’t fit were packed also (notice the spillage?)

Two plums on the side: one pink and juicy in the middle, one yellow and not-so-juicy in the middle.

I’m leaving work a bit early today to get my run in before I meet some fun girls for dinner.  I’m having some long run scheduling issues this week (or next?) and I’m struggling with how to remedy it.  There’s just not enough hours or free days in a week.

Happy Wednesday evening!  We’re over half way through the week! 🙂
